With all the chaos of these uncertain times, life has been a little upside down lately. I’m so thankful we already meal plan, because it has saved us from being so panicked with the depleting inventory in stores. And while we’ve had to make some adjustments, we are doing really well for the most part.
With so many people stuck inside right now, having a meal plan in place is more than just time and money-saving, it is also sanity-saving! If your kids are like mine, they suddenly grew a second stomach that requires them to eat every hour of the day! With a meal and snack plan in place though, you can direct them to it and save yourself the hourly questions (or at least curb them a little).
Even though many people are staying home and practicing distance from public places and people, Spring is a great time to get outside and grill. You could take a day trip to a nearby state or national park, or just set up a picnic in your own backyard! Be creative and find ways to make the most of this time together with your family that doesn’t have to break the bank.
Holiday Meals & Treats
In just a few short weeks we will celebrate Resurrection Sunday or Easter. Honestly, it is my favorite holiday of the year, with Christmas a close (very close) second. I love the spring weather and promise of new life as well as the time gathered with family and friends to remember Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice on the cross.
This year, we are trying to be more health-conscious, so we are trying our hands at natural egg dyes. And of course, we couldn’t leave out the food. So be sure to check out these healthy dinner options for Easter!
Silly holidays are fun to celebrate. Sometimes we use them to plan our schooldays and sometimes we do fun meals or treats around them. This month you can celebrate Grilled Cheese Day (April 12th) with some delicious and unique Grilled Cheese sandwiches. And celebrate a well-known salty treat with one of these pretzel dishes for Pretzel Day on April 26th.
Choose from Two Meal Plans
The regular meal plan includes slow cooker meals on Sundays and Wednesdays, for a break in the kitchen or those busy days. There are a variety of soups to get you through those chilly nights as we welcome in some seasonal salads to break it up just a bit.
There is a variety of meats (fish, chicken, beef, pork) as well as soups and salads (on both plans) to keep the whole family happy. My hope each month is that you will find some new favorites to add to your own must-have rotation.
Or choose the Instant Pot Meal Plan. On this plan, I have included some delicious winter and festive meals with a variety of meats (fish, chicken, pork, beef), plus a few salads. Plus, the suggestions for breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and desserts at the bottom are all Instant Pot recipes!
As always, feel free to move any of the recipes around as needed to fit your family’s schedule. However, you can combine the two for more variety. And if you’d like to switch up some of the Slow Cooker Meals to an Instant Pot recipe, check out this Instant Pot beginners post for a great link to help!
